August has been a whirlwind of a month. I have felt like I have been playing catch-up all month, trying to finish projects, prepare for the new school year, and checking things off my summer bucket list. I went back to school a week and a half ago, and summer is beginning to feel like a distant memory. I’m happy to be back in my routine even though it can be very busy at times, plus with the start of school means my favorite season fall is just around the corner.
Life Updates
Life has been crazy lately. I feel like the end of my summer holiday snuck up on me, and I jumped head first into prepping for the upcoming school year, hence the little blogging this month. At the start of the month I went on our yearly faculty/staff retreat to Big Bear, mid month I held play auditions for our fall play, and last week we started school. Like I said lot’s going on. In between all that I sold my car and Jeff bought a new car. I’m now cruising around town in our Rouge and love driving it! Jeff has been working at his new job for a little over a month now. I’m so proud of him and all his hard work studying for his exams. He still finds time to hold golf lessons, and I’m pretty sure he plays more golf now than he ever did as a golf pro. This past week to celebrate the end of our summer Jeff and I spent the afternoon down at the Huntington Beach Pier, enjoying an outdoor summer concert, a walk along the pier, and finishing with Dwight’s Beach Concessions world-famous strips and cheese. It was a perfect way to spend our Sunday and beat the heat wave that is currently going on. How are you spending the last few days of summer?
Love It
One of my summer projects has been to decorate our condo. I am almost to the point that I feel I can share pictures of our home with all of you. Here is the bedding I have been swooning over for our guest room which doubles as my office.

Just like all of you I have my list of favorite blogs to read through daily. Here are a few links to blog posts and articles I think are interesting and noteworthy to share. Hope you all enjoy!
- I found this post on hanging wall art especially helpful since I just finished hanging my gallery wall in our living room. I’ll be sharing our living room soon on the blog so stay tuned.
- I think being confident and comfortable in my own skin is something I struggle with. This article by The Everygirl was very inspiring, and I look forward to putting these habits into practice.
- I am completely in love with this entryway! #DesignGoal

- Summertime means the OC Fair is in town! I shared my afternoon at the fair, including a look at some adorable six-day old piglets.
- Before the month came to an end, I took a day trip to the Aquarium of the Pacifica to see the penguins and meet the handsome Anderson, who quickly became my favorite penguin. Don’t tell the others.
