I am so happy that September has come to an end. Purely for the fact, it means we have made it through the start of the school year, and the rhythm of the year has been established. It also means that my favorite season, Fall has begun. I was so lucky to live on the East Coast for two years during graduate school and experience a real Fall complete with changing leaves. Even though we don’t really encounter seasons in Southern California, our seasons are hot, hotter, hottest; I love all that the season encompasses; cozy nights, bonfires, football games, and pumpkin . . . everything! And, every once in a while we experience a hint of Fall in the air with a cool, crisp evening breeze. I treasure those days.
With the end of September and the first six weeks of the school year through, Summer seems a distant memory. I am in the midst of directing the Fall play production at my high school as well as teaching classes, running the yearbook, planning service trips, and running a school club. It’s a lot, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love being back with my students even if it makes finding time to blog a bit more challenging. Last Friday night we had an all-school bonfire at Huntington Beach. Jeff and I went as chaperones and had a fun time playing beach volleyball and making s’mores, whenever we able to cross one thing off our fall bucket list! Totally worth smelling like a fire pit on the drive home. Jeff is equally as occupied with work and recreational activities. He is a member of an adult softball and baseball league, and I love going to his games. Beowulf, our Scottie, even went to one softball game. The poor little guy wanted to eat the softball the whole time. I am very excited for the Fall season, and I have some exciting blog post to share in the coming months so stay tuned.
Have you been to Target lately? If you have, you have probably noticed the new brands filling the aisles. My favorite is the new home decor line Project 62. This new brand is a mix of modern pieces that work in your everyday lifestyles. Be sure to check in next Friday for my list of Friday Favorites featuring my top picks from the new Project 62 line.
