MY FAVORITE BOOKS OF 2019

February 24, 2020

I have recently started to read more.  I have always enjoyed the activity of reading but found that I would go in waves with how frequently I picked up a book.  Over the summer, I started listening to the Bad on Paper podcast and was inspired to start reading a few of the books they recommended and following along with Instagram book clubs, such as Reese Wetherspoon’s Hello Sunshine.

Now, I preface this post by mentioning that this list is a mixture of books I physically read and listened to as audiobooks.  With a five plus hour commute daily, I listen to audiobooks to maximize my time and make my commute more bearable with a literary adventure to look forward to.  And, according to a study published in the Journal of Neuroscience, listening to an audiobook is just as stimulating as physically reading a book.

I documented my reading adventure on my Goodreads account, and you are welcome to follow along for a complete list of my books and my ratings.  For the most part, it was a great year of reading.  This year my goal is 65 books and I am hoping to go beyond my usual young adult books and light reading books to include non-fiction and biographies.

Five-Stars Favorites:

One Day In December by Josie Silver
Love à la Mode by Stephanie Kate Strohm
The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren
Field Notes on Love by Jennifer E. Smith

Honorable Mentions:

Again, but Better by Christine Riccio
The Proposal by Jasmine Guillory

I’d love to know what you are reading!  I am always looking for a good book recommendation, and I love reading your comments!
